On July 27th, at the Traverse City Film Festival,
Michael Moore recognized The Garden Theater
with the inaugural "Golden Reel" award, for the
excellent work the entire community has put forth
in restoring the Garden. Thanks to everyone who has pitched in with painting, cleaning, funding, working
and just believing
in the vision. So much good work accomplished
-
much good work still to do.

The Garden Theater
Originally built in 1923, The Garden Theater
reopened last summer, following an
extensive renovation.
Members of the community donated valuable time and resources! Countless updates have been made, including the installation of new seats, a new heating and cooling system, upgraded Dolby digital sound, art deco tile restoration, and numerous behind-the-wall upgrades.
The Garden Theater shows first run, independent, and foreign films; along with
classic cinema at The Garden Greats series. Matinees are scheduled throughout
the year.
The second annual Frankfort Film Festival,
slated for October 21-24, 2010, will feature the "best of show" titles from worldwide film festivals.
The Garden Theater is available to rent, for private and corporate events, charity fund raisers, wedding receptions and other special gatherings.
See you at The Garden!
